The vehicle review establishes the power path, mounting location, connection plan and data sources. It gives the team and Race Link Live one clear installation scope.

Have the race vehicle available, including the areas where hardware, cameras and cabling will be installed.

01 · Race Link Core
A driver-facing mount and a reliable power path.
Core is installed around the co-driver’s working view. Its mount, constant power and connection plan should be agreed before the vehicle arrives.
- Constant power
- A dedicated fused constant 12V power source and ground.
- Driver-facing mount
- A 1-inch RAM ball mount placed within the co-driver’s sightline and reach.
- Vehicle Wi-Fi
- Vehicle Starlink Wi-Fi available for setup and normal race operations.
- Protected routing
- A safe route for power, display and antenna cabling that does not interfere with vehicle operation.
- Vehicle access
- Time with the vehicle for installation, configuration and a complete function check.
02 · Race Link Live Edge
Plan the network and vehicle signals before cameras go in.
Edge combines vehicle-side capture, available connectivity and selected vehicle data. The exact hardware layout is confirmed during the vehicle review.
- Dedicated power
- A fused 12V power source and ground for the Edge system.
- Starlink Ethernet
- One available Starlink Ethernet connection. Some configurations use two ports.
- Vehicle data
- CAN High and CAN Low. If the vehicle has more than one CAN network, provide access to every network required for the deployment.
- Clear sky view
- Starlink hardware mounted or positioned for a clear view of the sky.
- Camera and cable plan
- Approved camera locations and protected routing for camera, Ethernet and power cables.
- Installation window
- Vehicle access for installation, configuration and a race-day function check.
Connectivity recommendation
For live video, start with Priority data.
Race Link Live recommends a Starlink Local Priority plan sized for the planned camera count and race hours. Teams needing cross-border or broader coverage should discuss Global Priority during the vehicle review.
Starlink hardware, service plan and data charges are not included unless stated in the deployment agreement.

What power does Race Link Core need?
Core needs a dedicated fused constant 12V power source and ground. The vehicle review confirms the final connection point and cable route.
Where should Race Link Core mount?
Plan for a 1-inch RAM ball mount within the co-driver’s sightline and reach. The exact position should support short glances without obstructing normal vehicle operation.
What CAN access is needed?
Provide CAN High and CAN Low for the networks in scope. If the vehicle uses more than one CAN network, Race Link Live needs access to every network required for the agreed deployment.
Why do you recommend a Starlink Priority plan?
Live video use depends on available data priority and the amount of video the team plans to send. A Local Priority plan should be sized around planned camera count and race hours; broader coverage can be discussed during the vehicle review.
Is Starlink included with the system?
Starlink hardware, service plan and data charges are customer-provided unless they are specifically included in the deployment agreement.
What happens if connectivity drops?
Vehicle-side capture continues locally. Available data synchronizes when connectivity returns, and Race Link Live keeps freshness and availability visible rather than presenting an old source as live.
